Refunds & the Release Gate Warranty

Last updated July 14, 2026

Short version: if we say we checked something and didn't, or the manufacturing files we send don't match the release you approved, we make it right — a refund and a respin, up to $150. This warranty does not cover whether your circuit works, firmware, or requirements you never told us about.

Scope

This warranty applies only to the exact Releaseidentified by the SHA-256 file hashes in your MakeIRL report. MakeIRL’s factory checkout isn’t live yet — until it is, this warranty covers the preflight check and its report. The delivery-dependent clauses below take effect once you can order manufacturing through MakeIRL.

Release Gate Warranty

We warrant that we performed the checks listed as “Performed” in your report, using the tool and rule versions named in that report, and that any manufacturing package we submit on your behalf matches the approved Release.

If you notify us within seven calendar days of tracked delivery, and we determine the assemblies are unusable primarily because MakeIRL failed to perform a listed check, incorrectly reported a listed deterministic check as passed, or transmitted manufacturing files that did not match the approved Release, we will refund the MakeIRL service fee and fund one identical prototype respin or manufacturing credit, up to the lower of $150 or the original manufacturing charge you paid us.

If the factory did not manufacture the approved package correctly, MakeIRL manages the workmanship claim and passes through the factory’s repair, replacement, or credit. Preserve at least one unmodified assembly and provide reasonable photographs, measurements, and remote-triage information if we ask for them.

This warranty does notcover: whether the circuit performs your intended function; firmware; requirements you didn’t give us; behavior not listed as checked; approved waivers or substitutions; component characteristics beyond the cited data; RF, EMC, signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, mechanical, regulatory, safety, reliability, or lifetime performance unless expressly listed; damage after delivery; or any change made after the Release was approved.

A passing report means no covered release blocker was found. It is not a certification of functionality, fitness for purpose, regulatory compliance, or safety. This warranty is limited to one remedy per Release and does not restrict rights that cannot legally be excluded.
